Hello community,
my Intel Management Engine Interface stopped working.
Specifically it shows Code 10 Power Failure in the device manager and on bootup it states in the upper left corner "ME in recovery state".
This issue appeared on Windows 8.1 and persisted on Windows 10 as described below.
What I tried to resolve the issue:
1) I updated the BIOS to the newest one from the notebook's driver side.
2) I tried updating the Intel ME driver, but this did not work on Windows 8.1 (failure).
3) Then I switched the hard drive to an SSD which I wanted to do anyway. Error message still appears in BIOS bootup screen.
4) I installed Windows 10 and also tried the driver installed by windows 10 itself which didn't work.
5) I uninstalled the device including the drivers from the device manager. It was added back by windows 10 automatically. Error persists.
What does not work:
1) If you try to get into the power saving mode, the screen turns black. When trying to wake up from power saving mode, notebook starts as if it was turned off.
2) Notebook stucks between 2 to 3 minutes when booting in this first windows wheel screen. After that, the SSD starts showing activity according to the LED and the laptop suddenly starts rapidly.
The above steps where all I could find while searching the web and HP sides for the error. It seems that this error is quite common.
Will HP provide a solution for this what appears to be a software issue or has anyone of you a solution?
Thank you in advance!
