My new, 2week old HP Zbook 17 G3 workstation battery charges very,very slowly. First time I used it on battery ( had it 3 days at that stage) it ran down to 56%, I then plugged in to power, but would not show as charging on battery indicator. It was shut down then for the night. At next boot up indicator showed as charging but still on 56%. After 3 hours it reached 71% then shut down. Next boot up and again 3hours later it reached 88%. I ran it on battery again for 2 hours, then back to power for about 6hours, it had then reached 94% before shut down. Now after 1 week of testing battery this way, it has finally fully charged. According to HP Support Assistant the battery is not one that is on the list of recall. Is this normal for a G3 or is it a junk item.

I will be using software such as CAD,circuit simulators and other design software. NO gaming . What would be the ideal budget friendly PC from hp ? i am interested in buying all in one desktop PCs .

840 G3 Video Stutter Intel 15.60
Ever since updating the video driver to 15.60.4877 to address the Intel privelidge vulnerability, video playback on Youtube for one has been laggy. The event viewer shows the video driver crashing every half hour or so.
The driver was installed at the time of imaging using direct INF method. No exe was run.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Hard drive not visible on Bios drive lock
hello
I try to activate the function "DriveLock" in the Bios / Hard Drive Utilities, but the list of drive available is empty.
So, I see the message "Select a drive" but don't have a choice to select.
Note:
I can apply the Post Power-On Password and Bios Administrator Password.
In Hard Drive Utilities / Secure Erase the hard disk is available.

Zbook G3 & Thunderbolt 3 drivers
Need to sort out what is what with all the drivers for Zbook G3 and the Thunderbolt 3 dock in the HP support download pages.

If I select Windows 7 the latest HP Thunderbolt 3 Dock Firmware is 1.12. But if I switch to Windows 10 the latest version is 1.26, but if I read the release doc 1.26 also works for Windows 7?

With Windows 10 the latest Intel Thunderbolt 3 Secure Connect Utility is 16.2.55.275.
But for Windows 7 there's 16.3.71.300, but it does not work with Windows 10? And also what is Intel Thunderbolt 3 Secure Connect for 2018 that is only available for Windows 10?
With Windows 10 the latest Intel Thunderbolt 3 Firmware Update is 25.0.3.0.1 but for Windows 7 it's only 18.0.3.0.1? Even though it says in the releasedoc that 25.0.3.0.1 also works with Windows 7.

ProBook shuts down by itself when I am working then restarts
My ProBook 455 G3 shuts down while I am working then restarts. No error message, this occurs almost daily, sometimes twice in one day. Machine is plugged in. This machine is used for my business and is very annoying. Also, I have reciept dated May 2, 2017 (from Amazon) but HP says my warrenty expired Jan 2018. Please help! Thanks in advance

Can I reset a bios password?
I just purchased an off-lease Elitebook 820 G-1 then later foundit was lockedout by a bios password. I tried contacting the auction company but they were no help. I did run the serial number with the local PD to make sure it wasn't stolen and it came back clean but I still at this point just have a pile of parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Lost my Windows 10 upgrade after SSD gets replaced
Hi,
My laptop (HP ZBook 14 Base Model Mobile Workstation) was originally shipped with Windows 8, upgrade to 8.1 and finally to 10, for free, as it was during the first year of the W10 release.
The SSD died last year, while the laptop was still under warranty. After one month I finally got my laptop back with a brand new SSD, and a Windows 8.1 USB key installer.
I now wonder if it is possible for HP to give me a Windows 10 license, or allow me somehow to upgrade my current Windows 8 install? All in all, this issue would not arise had my disk lived long enough...

New Laptops
HP Canada is notorious for ONLY selling the cheap stuff. I have never been able to order a high-end laptop with the specs I want. So I had to go with Lenovo and Asus units.
Will I be able to order in Canada one of the new HP ZBooks coming out in May 2018 with the specs I want? Thanks.

ME State in Recovery Mode
The machine is complaining about ME being in recovery state. I therefore updated BIOS to latest version, then attempted to flash latest ME FW provided by HP, however, keep getting Error 8771 : invalid file both in windows and when trying to flash via dos.
