amd a10 on my hp envy dv6 7245us

Hi hp,

My hp envy dv6, has an amd a10 quad core processor which is supposed to run at 2.3ghz usually, and when it needs to it can go up to 3.2ghz.

Recently some of my games have had a varying fps. When the games are running good, i check the processing speed and it runs around 2.6ghz, when theyre running bad, i check the processing speed and it says usually anywhere from 1.3 to 2.2ghz. So why isnt my computer staying at 2.6ghz when it needs to? After all, it says it can go to 3.2ghz so why shouldnt it be able to stay on 2.6ghz?
