I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Windows 7 64-bit.
The number keypad on the right is not working properly and the lights on the keyboard that normally show caps on and num lock on are not working either.
Is this a software or hardware problem? How do i fix it?
Can I use parts from a HP Compaq presario to fix it if possible?
Further info: these are the commands i get when I press certain numbers with num lock on
1: 1
2: 72 and window help & support window opens
3: *3zc
4: 4
5: 95`and the display light gets dimmer
6: 0613
7: 7
8: 1 and a new tab on google chrome opens up
9: 9
0: 0
Num lock off:
it does a whole bunch of crazy stuff too.
I've tried going to Ease of Access and checking to see if the toggle or mouse buttons where checked and everything is fine. I even checked the box for the computer to play a sound when cap or num lock is selected, that's how I know when it is on or off.
Any ideas?
