I left my computer unplugged for six weeks. I plugged it in and used it for about five minutes before it shut down. I left it plugged in with the power adapter overnight and still just get the lights by the touchpad blinking three times. I have tried a hard reset - unplugged power adapter, removed battery, held power button down for 60 seconds, plugged in power adapter (without the battery inserted). I get no power or lights when I attempt to turn it on without the battery and just with the adapter as a power supply. I have then tried the hard reset; but,instead inserted the battery after holding down the power button. I then get the blinking lights, three times, and it will not boot up. I am sure it is the battery and not the power button or motherboard . . . It has worked fine until I left it unplugged for six weeks. Is there any other option than to buy a new battery?
