Probook 4430s / Windows 7 SP1 (Not mine, just helping out a friend)
BIOS will not and has not ever updated, currently installed ver 68SRR: F.0A, HP latest ver .41
The HP Support Assisstant has always updated the drivers but not the BIOS because the display shows it's not on AC.
This has always been used as a desktop machine because the battery has been removed due to charging problems and
the latest version is supposed to correct charging problems (hence the desire to update now)
Battery removed (and lost) and always plugged in, the Bios and Windows both indicate AC power but...The update utilty
says it's not plugged in and won't update and the BIOS updater pops up at every startup (a little annoying but who cares)
Is there a version of the BIOS flash utilty or a method that doesn't check the power?
I've tried the windows, support and jump drive methods already
