Hi,
I have an HP Compaq Presario C700 CTO Notebook. It's about three years old. For the past month it's shut down on seven different occasions and then restarts with a blue sceen message. It disappears too fast for me to read it. When the desktop appears there's a message that the computer shut down unexpectedly and "Intel IMSM driver has stopped working properly. Below that is: Tap or click to download the update from the ASUSTek Computer website."
The message gives the option to get more information about the problem. I've checked and every time the error message is:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 8086
BCP1: 00000000
BCP2: 00000000
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 00000000
OS Version: 6_0_6002
Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 768_1
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini052813-01.dmp
C:\Users\Soey\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-49140-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Soey\AppData\Local\Temp\WERCD8B.tmp.version.txt
The parts I've highlighted in bold are different for each blue screen error message, but the rest is identical.
I've downloaded and reinstalled the update each time the blue screen event has happened. The update is named V8.9.2.1002_logo_Win7Vista3264.
I read on some online forums this problem might be fixed by updating my bios. Could this be correct? My BIOS version is Hewlett-Packard F.4, 9/25/2008. The SMBIOS version is 2.4.
My laptop has 907 MB of available physical memory. Could this be the cause of the problem?
Any help is very much appreciated.
