I'm helping my sister who has this HP G62 US-340 Notebook, not sure if she is using Windows 9 it's 2 years old and it was the current Windows when she purchased it. I don't know where to look for the model No.# on the back it has #'s... the Product Key # and other #'s but does not say what they are for. Just doesn't say Model number to let you know.
She was using the laptop with no problems & power off. The next time she turned it on sounded like it was powering up but had a black screen with the Cap key light blink once per intervals. I did research this a little. I took the battery out and unplug the power cord and held the power button down for 15 seconds, Nothing happen. I also read that the 1 blinking light on the cap key meant it was the CPU. Is there anything else that
I can try? I'm trying to save her some money. IF the CPU needs replacing does that mean that the BIOS have to be reset also. Actually I really don't know what I'm saying...just what I have been reading :) I would not know the first thing about messing with the BIOS. Has there been a issue with this HP like I have been reading on the HP 600 overheating issues?
If she had to purchase a new CPU how could we be sure that's the real issue? I know :) Take it so someone would be as costly and she may as well buy another computer Hope someone can help, as I can figure out a few things but can't get in to deep. Crazy thing is she rarely uses the computer it like new compared to people who use their's on a daily basic.
I would appreciate any information anyone could give and praying it's not a hopeless
or a costly issue.
