Laptop acts as a mouse click occurred when it is tilted

Computer: HP Probook 4540s

OS: Windows 7

Touchpad: Synaptics Pointing Device

The reason that I know this is a computer-wide 'feature' and not a plain problem is that when the screen is in a dimmed state and I tilt the computer back a little it will revert to the full brightness.

The 'problem' that this feature produces occurs when I am using a program called ComicRack. Whenever I shift position and the computer tilts a little as a result, or if I get up and move (the computer shakes a little as I walk), anything to physically move the computer, the program switches from the book I am reading to the next one on the list. I have, in the settings, removed all the shortcuts to move to the new book. However it still happens.

Does anyone know how to shut this feature off?

Thanks!!
