SS USB Ports not working

Hi,

I use the HP EliteBook 8460p Both of my left side USB ports are not working. They haven't worked as long as I can remember, and I have had this notebook for less than a year. I have tried various devices in both these ports with no success.

Both ports have 'SS'  written on them.

Any help is appreciated.
