Short DST: FAILED - G62-346NR Laptop

Greetings. I hope this is the right forum.

I have a G62-346NR notebook that has started having problems. It boots into Windows 7 with no error messages, but freezes. It boots into Safe mode normally. I ran the diagnostics and get the following error message when testing the HD:

Short DST FAILED

FAILURE ID: 68BT1D-5B772X-XD003F-60U003

PRODUCT ID: XH073UA#ABA

Does this mean the drive has just plain failed and needs to be replaced? Or is there anything specific about this particular code I should know?
