HP envy m6 lag problem

I have an HP envy m6, I seem to have a great deal of lag and the volume goes up and down allby itself sometimes te computer will lag so long i just sign out, ANy ideas what I can do.  have norton and I even reset back to factory setting ,  nothing works,  everthing takes forever. I have the slowest laptop in the house
