I just got an Envy 17t-j100 Quad Edition. It's about a month or so old now.
When I type and use the shift key to capitalize letters, it will capitalize letters I don't want in words before the letter or punctuation that I want to use the shift key for. Sometimes several letters from a prior word, and not always the word directly before. I've tried playing with the key repetition settings. The keyboard has done this continually since I got it, and I thought maybe it was a fluke in the game I was playing (i.e. lag or something) but it happens even in email. This never happened with my last computer, which was about 5 years old and was an HP Pavillion.
Currently I am using a little Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and there doesn't seem to be a problem with it as I'm typing this.
I'm not really sure what would cause the shift key to register too soon or too long. Are there any other settings I haven't thought of that I can try? I do tend to type quickly, but as noted before, I never had any problems on any other computer or keyboard. This one consistently uses the shift key for the wrong keystrokes.
While not the worst problem, I constantly have to waste time to backspace and fix the missed/overcapped words or punctuation. Any help would be appreciated!!
