HP Pavilion dv7-4170us
My HP Pavillion plastic bottom is broken at the same place as the others described. It is near the fan and the hinge to the LCD screen is detached (left side of bottom of screen) from the plastic bottom of the laptop. Seems like there is definitely a design flaw here based on the other descriptions and photos in the forum.
I have always taken care of my HP laptop and owned other laptops including Macbooks, Dells, and Compaqs and never had such a problem. Is it from excess heat stressing and hardening the plastic, making it fail?
What will HP do to repair my computer? i am sure it is out of warranty, but this is a design flaw, not the fault of the owners/users.
