I have HP ENVY 15t-j000 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC with Windows 8.1, 64 bit OS.
Since 2 days my windows update settings have been changed somehow. I cannot change the settings to download and install updates automatically, the option to change is gray. It says "some settings are managed by your system administrator" even though I am using the administrator account.
I also ran troubleshooting. Each time I run troubleshoot it shows the error "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected 0x80070490". Every time it shows this error has been fixed but running troubleshoot again detects the error. However this is not the main problem. The main problem is I cannot do things as system administrator. If I was able to work as system administrator I would have changed my settings and the problem would have been solved all by itself.
How do I get system administrator privilages so that I can change my windows update settings to just what it was before.
