FRUSTRATED with Envy 6 Ultrabook broken hinge & HP Support

I purchased a laptop in Dubai, UAE before I moved to the U.S. to attend college.

The laptop hinge has now broken and I tried to call the U.S support enter to send my laptop in for repair. The warranty has expired in mid-2013, but I paid the equivalent of $1,000 dollars and I don't want it to be just a paperweight so I contacted HP support in the U.S and they refused to help me stating that since it is a non-US model, they are unable to create a case and repair it.  Their advice was to contact HP Middle East and see what kind of help they could offer, but what can they do halfway around the around?

What kind of policy is this? HP, a global laptop leader can't repair it's own product?

I'm frustrated with the engineering flaw of this laptop and the inability for HP support to help with my issue.

This issue is well known by HP and exists in all Envy 6 models based on the forums I'm reading on this site and rather than HP reaching out to their customers, they shove them away.

This is my primary laptop, what do I do now?

You must rectify this issue HP, don't diminish the brand
