I've already done a lot of looking up on this to find a solution, but even on these forums it seems no one had found a solution, or at least i didnt find a thread that did.
I have HP COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ62 laptop computer, and i decided to watch a dvd.
Thing is, it wont read. i can hear it spin, and a cd icon even shows up briefly. But the drive says theres nothing inside, and no media reading software detects anything either.
Now, maybe 5 months ago I was watching DVD's no problem, but now It wont play anything. So im pretty ticked off to say the least.
I ran the Mr.Fixit thing and nothing happened, it simply said the media could not be read, even tho my xbox and my dvd player can read it just fine.
As per microsofts support page, I even uninstalled the drive, restarted computer so it would automatically reinstall to no avail.
I also went into the registry editor thing, I did not have the upper and lower things in there.
so its not a registy error from what I can gather. So I have no idea why its not working all of a sudden.
Any help would be great.
