I have purchased a MU09 battery for my DV7-4029tx laptop and it will not calibrate. I have run the calibration via the support assistant and via the "start up" diagnostic tools both a number of time.
The tools continue to report the status of the battery as "calibrate". and the windows system tray "losses" the amount of battery left after it drops below 50%.
If I run the laptop on battery only, it will go into hibernation state when the battery gets to about 10% as it is suppose to but I do not get any notification of the low battery level before the hibernation kicks in.
The shop that I purchased the battery, said the the HP battery check does not always work with the 9 cell battery and is only reliable with the MU06 6 cell battery. They are saying that I should buy the MU06 instead.
Can anybody advise on the validity of this and should I be able to calibrate the MU09 battery on my DV7-4029tx laptop?
