I have been having the jumping cursor problem. I have an HP Pavilion dv7-6169nr Entertainment PC Laptop. I have a wireless mouse, Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 connected via bluetooth. I have used the feature of turning my Touchpad off. It is currently showing the orange backlight and yet I've had the issue three times so far in this message. It appears this does this in any program while typing. Often I only use Microsoft Office (happened on Office 2010 AND Office 2013) and Google Chrome (for typing). Generally, it will go to where ever on the page and then will insert what I am typing there. When I go to move the cursor back to where it belongs, it will highlight whatever my cursor moves over. I have tried restarting my computer. I have checked for new updates. I have replaced the batteries in my wireless mouse. Nothing hassolved this issue.
