Hi all,

 

I recently purchased an Elitebook 820 G1. I have had the laptop for about a month and I have noticed that the display will wobble backward and forwards when typing.

 

I also feel that when I open the display, it doesn't feel stiff or firm. I have an Elitebook 840 G2 and this has a very stiff display and there is absolutely no wobble at all.

 

I am sure that the hinges on this unit are slightly defective, but what is the general opinion from others with this laptop? Do you find your 820 has stiff hinges or that these are slightly loose and that is the general design of notebook?

 

Would I need to send this laptop off to HP for repair or would a technician come to my home to fix the problem?

Hello all.  A long shot I know, but someone might just remember things about this old work-horse!

I've got an ageing Compaq 6715s with AMD Sempron x2 processors which I'm trying to bring back from the dead for the kids.

The issue we have is that it will boot up fine on battery and funtions as normal, but won't work or charge on the AC chargers we have.  There are three other 6715 laptops working in the house (two of which are the "b" rather than the "s") and all function fine, recognising the various chargers/AC blocks that they use.

I've tried the hard re-set of no battery, no AC, hold the power button and try again on just AC.  What we get on this occasion, as on anything other than straight charged battery, is 8 blinks of the battery LED apart from with one charger we get alternating green and yellow blinking battery LED.  Either way, no power up and no charging of the battery.

When powered on battery, the device manager suggests that everything is working fine.  It even seems to recognise and pass the charger, but won't power up or charge the battery.

Anyone got any thoughts or advice?!  I'm stumped!

Hi, I own ProBook 4530s and I am having problems with charging battery. I thought problem is in battery and I bought a new one and problem is still not solved. Here is my issue: When I put battery in my laptop, charging stops and laptop works only on battery even if it is plugged in. After that if I remove battery laptop shuts down and I have to plug it of harger and then to plug it again and then laptop starts on adapter. Can you tell me is problem in my motherboard or just in DC connector? Sorry for bad english.

Hello,

 

i have just finished building a TaskSequence in SCCM 2012 for de HP Elite X2 1012 G1 notebook.

All is working except Bitlocker.

All other laptops (HP 650 G1, G2 and Elite X2 1011 G1, etc) bitlocker does work.

I receive an error with Active Directory not being setup correcty. Access Denied.

This is normally due to de SELF object not able to write the TPM ownerinformation.

 

But our AD has been setup for this a long time ago. And all other laptops etc bitlocker works fine.

When i check the bios. all other laptops have an option for OS managament of bitlocker.

The new HP Elite X2 1012 G1 however does not.

How can i enable bitlocker and write the key to the Active Directory for this laptop?

Will the ZBook 17 G2 fit this dock?

My company is looking to replace its aging fleet of HPs. We have narrowed the field to a Dell model or the HP SB ZBook 17 G2. The decision will likely depend on if the ZBook will fit our existing 230w Docks (P/N VB043UT).

 

The dock looks almost identical to the two HP 230w Docking Stations listed as accessories: A7E34UT and A7E34AA...not sure what the difference is. The pages are exactly identical except the price. Perhaps an exercise in suckering people? More expensive is always better even when the things are identical.

Hello

 

I’m facing an intermittent 100% disk active time with 0 kB/s read or write speed with my ProBook 450 G3 running on Win 10.

During that time the notebook is not responding. This effect always lasts for exactly  60 s (visible in the task manager) and after that the hard disk is responding again. It seems like some sort of timeout is happening after 60 s before it returns to normal behaviour. Sometimes the 100% active time occurs every few minutes and sometimes I can work for hours without interruption. So far, I was not able to trigger that effect.

 

A Google search on «100% active time » returns a lot of suggestions like disabling superfetch, windows search and the intelligent background transfer service. None of it solved the problem. The drivers of the hard disk (Toshiba) and the SATA controller (Intel) are up to date. I also have already reinstalled Win 10 which did not help either.

 

I have another issue with that ProBook. I do not think this is related to this problem. However, you never know…:

Hello,

 

I’m seeing a bizarre effect with the wifi on my ProBook 450 G3 running on Win 10. The notebook intermittently loses the wifi connection and is then not able to reconnect anymore. When the connection gets lost and I try to reconnect I’m getting the message “some settings have changed since the last connection. Please enter your wifi passcode”. When I enter the passcode it then returns a message “Connection not possible”. I then have to hook up the notebook via ethernet cable to the router and while it is connected via cable I can re-establish the wifi connection (obviously without re-entering the passcode as it has never changed…).

Sometimes the connection gets lost every 15-30 min and sometimes it is running stable for hours. The wifi driver is up to date. Other devices connected to that router do not show this effect. I wasn’t able to test the ProBook on a different wifi network so far.

 

Any thoughts?

 

I have another issue with that ProBook. I do not think this is related to this problem, however, you never know…:

HI 

i recently purchase hp 450g3 probook, i used window 7 64 bit and also tried window 8 64 bit , my laptop gets hangs while using different softwares, mostly photoshop cs6, i tried using different version of photoshop, changed the window, updated the bios but the problem ramains as it is, then i have to turn off the laptop and restart it either by long pressing the power button or by removing the battery, please suggest what should i do

Samsung MZ7TE256HM​HP All Drives BAD Sector from factory on 840 G3 HP wants customers to 3hrs wipe and then reinstall from Recovery each time

 

Malfunction Samsung: Disk_SAMSUN_MZNTE256HMHP-000EXT2

 

 

We are a Swiss Reseller and have around 10 pcs of HP 840 G3 (T9X55EA#UUZ). Shippment was from 3 different largest HP-Wholesaler in Switzerland. The Serial numbers are 4000+ Devices apparat.  Shipped with different carriers and 2-3 appart in time.

 

All them HAVE the HP M2 SSD BUG. The Samung Disk has from factory BAD Sectors. OS may run he time Windows hits the bad sector you get a blue screen.

 

Problem is:

 

* If you install the factory pre Installed WIM Windows 7 64BIT you run into a Bluescreen

* If you RE-Setup Windows 7 from Recovery you run into Bluescreen

 

Solution from HP for Resellser, Shops and HP partners:

 

* LOW Level WIPE the Full SSD Disk with a options that takes from 1-4 Hours

* RE-install ful OS from Recovery Media which at the end you have to pay shippment

 

 

Worst  HP comes and tells endcustomer to use HP FILE Sanitizer on an UEFI activated Laptop. 85% of the Low level Sector Test and WIPE tools DO not work under UEFI or LEGACY boot on the laptop with USB CD/DVD.

 

We are offended by how HP handels the CASE with the defecive SSD Disk on the Elitebook Series and others. We understand that this a BUG related to Samsung but the prodcut Warranty is from HP. We guess all of them and a large amount of serials are affected.

 

Thats what HP writes to HP-partners

Hi I am after parts to replace the housing on a laptop I dropped in the car park.  It landed on the corner.  There has been no damage to any of the hardware, but the housing needs replacing and I cannot find any of the parts to actually do this.

Hi,

 

Suddenly, and after HP Support Assistant updated my NVIDIA graphic card driver/software, my notebook fan started to scream very load whenever in idle for few minutes!

 

Whenever that happens, and when I run Task Manager, it shows that "dwm.exe" is stressing the CPU at 100%

 

I also noticed that when Task Manager is open, "dwm.exe" return to normal, and the fan return to normal as well.  But when I close the Task Manager, the problem comeback after 1 - 3 minutes of idle, and "dwm.exe" start stressing the CPU at 100% and keeps doing that until I open Task Manager!!

 

I downloaded a temperature monitoring program called RealTemp (https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/) and it confirms that my laptop dose overheat after few minutes of idle when that "dwm.exe" start running and stressing the CPU like crazy!

 

RealTemp warned me that my CPU reached a 100 degree Celsius which is way too hot!!

 

My Zbook 15 never reached 70 degree Celsius when it was under load while rendering videos from my video editor.  And now it reaches 100 degree Celsius when it is idle!

 

How to solve this problem? How to roll back to the previous NVIDIA driver?

I shipped my unit to HP for repair due to having a boot issue. They received my unit April 04 and I received an email around April 12 that states, i need to pay 648.00 due to a broken lcd and its beyond economical repair. The repair center is blaming me for the damages (customer induced damages). I know for sure my unit has no physical damage and this happened during shipment. Who i need to contact or talk to in regards about this matter? I don't want to spend 600 dollars for i know i didn't do.

I started the upgrade.  First thing I ran into was that I needed to uninstall HP Client Security Manager, which also requires me to unintall several sub programs.  Do I want to do this?  Why is this a requirement to go to Windows 10?

This morning My dear and old  warrior refused to START WINDOWS*, it was ok with ELECTRICITY but he kept the screen dark gray, no logo, nomore only the FAN buzzed a bit sporadic,  otherwise The 6560b was ....

 Is he dead for good now?  REVIVE, IS IT ok ? or he need to rest now?

 

In that case he became ALMOST 4 YEARS OLD.. which is the NORMAL LIFE LENGTH FOR ProBook ?

Anyway, anyway he's missing and will be hard to replace : /

I was using my HP laptop this morning and the APpower adapter caught on fire.  The adapter is a HP -710412-001.  I saw smoke and immediately unplugged it from my laptop and litterally I could see flames coming out of the part that plugs directly into the laptop.    My bar code reads; CT: WDFZ0AGM5VVRG.  Anyone else have this problem?
